Aesthetic Courses for Beginners: Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers
This module is ideal for:
• Those completely new to Facial Aesthetics (beginner levels)
• Those that may have undertaken beginner aesthetics courses elsewhere but lack the confidence to start treating patients
✓⃝ Both theory and hands-on training
✓⃝ Course dates available all year round
Module One Overview
Our most successful delegates have always started their journey with us by completing Module One; our beginners aesthetics courses, centred around BTX (also known as Botulinum Toxin or ”botox”) and Dermal Filler for beginners.
Module One runs over three consecutive days and includes our BTX Levels 1 and 2 courses, followed by our Dermal Filler Level 1 course. We have specifically placed these courses together based on complexity levels and patient demand. Whilst delegates do not have to complete all three beginner aesthetics courses consecutively, it is our recommendation that they do so where possible. If you do not wish to complete the entire module, you do not have to. You are welcome to undertake any course within any module, providing your abilities match the level of complexity of the course.

FAQs about our Beginner Aesthetics Training
Are these courses hands-on?
Yes, a major element of the course is that we focus on a more hands on approach. You will have the opportunity to inject whilst being fully supervised on the courses by Prof Bob Khanna. The courses are designed to ensure that our delegates feel confident with injecting. Using the right technique you will be able to treat patients in a reassuring, safe and painless manner.

Do I have to do all 3 courses in Module 1?
Whilst delegates do not have to complete all three beginner aesthetics courses consecutively, it is our recommendation that they do so where possible. The courses in Module 1 are scheduled on consecutive days and are carefully designed to equip you with both the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to confidently treat your patients. This continuous learning format is often preferred as it ensures a seamless progression, helping you build a strong foundation without any interruptions in your education.
If you do not wish to complete the entire module, you do not have to. You are welcome to undertake any course within the module.
What time do the courses run?
Our courses are available on various dates and run from approximately 9:30-5pm.
Will I receive notes after my beginner aesthetics course?
Upon completion of a course, all delegates are provided with a detailed, digital post-course information pack, containing all the necessary information needed to revise techniques or refer to Professor Khanna’s teachings.
Upon completion of the courses, you will also be invited to become an IAAFA member and get access to our 24 hour online support forum.
What dermal filler range do we use on our Beginner Dermal Filler Course?
The dermal filler range we use across all of our filler courses is by Pluryal®. They have a wide range of dermal fillers, biofillers and biostimulators. The specific products used in various scenarios will be explored on each course.
Are models provided for the practical sessions?
Models are provided on our dermal filler courses. Delegates are welcome to bring their own model, and we do encourage this for various reasons;
- To enable you to feel more comfortable treating somebody you know
- To be able to select your own patient – discovering a suitable candidate
- To be able to monitor the results of the treatment post-course
- To be able to understand the treatment from a patients perspective
- They are your first walking and talking advert
How soon after the training can I start offering treatments?
Our courses are specifically designed to arm you with the confidence, knowledge and skills you need to start offering these treatments immediately. However, for medical professionals in the UK, there are some key considerations to make:
-
Professional Registration: To perform dermal filler treatments, medical professionals must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), the General Dental Council (GDC) or the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This is a legal requirement in the UK. Additionally, it’s recommended that you also check if you are covered by adequate medical malpractice insurance specifically for aesthetic procedures.
-
Regulatory Considerations: While dermal fillers themselves are not regulated as medical devices in the UK, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) does regulate certain types of aesthetic practices. Doctors/Dentists offering dermal filler treatments should ensure they comply with the relevant local regulations and best practice guidelines
-
Insurance and Liability: It’s also crucial for you to ensure you have the appropriate medical malpractice insurance and coverage for offering aesthetic procedures like BTX or dermal fillers.
Who can attend the courses?
We pride ourselves on being leaders in the aesthetic industry and strive to always promote patient safety above anything else. For various reasons, our courses are strictly for medical professionals only. To attend our courses you must be a registered doctor, dentist, medical nurse, midwife, or prescribing pharmacist. We believe that it is only at this level of education that you have a real solid knowledge and understanding of the facial anatomy, and as such, would be capable delivering safe results and dealing with any potential complications, where a non-medical professional might not (i.e. beauticians).
There are a few instances (for example, with dental therapists), where non-prescribers are able to attend so long as they are accompanied by a prescriber. Please enquire for more information if you are a dental therapist.
Am I able to book multiple courses?
You can absolutely book all the courses together, and in fact, this is the approach most delegates choose.
Why should I choose Dr Bob Khanna for my Facial Aesthetics Training?
Aside from being the longest-running Facial Aesthetics Training Institute in the UK, we are also the first Medical Aesthetics Training Institute in the UK to be approved by the Royal Society for Public Health.
We also take an extra layer of safety and use Ultrasound Verification on our courses where necessary, so you can rest assured that you are performing safe treatment. This is particularly beneficial to those who are completely new to aesthetics and are not yet confident with injecting.
As well as this, Prof Bob Khanna’s level of clinical experience is extensive and he is one of the very few dental surgeons in the UK to obtain his QCCP qualifications (Qualification Council for Cosmetic Procedures). He has earned a great deal of respect amongst his peers worldwide for his knowledge and lecturing skills. You can learn more about Prob Bob here.
Places on our courses are in high demand and we are very proud that many delegates who attend are introduced to our training institute through personal recommendation.
If I need help after I have completed the course, will I be able to contact you?
Yes. We encourage all of our delegates to maintain an open line of communication and our team are on-hand to support you anytime.
We are also able to offer all of our delegates a dedicated 24 hour online support service with many added benefits. Full details on the support service can be found here.
How easy is it to obtain indemnity insurance?
At the conclusion of each course day, you will be provided with a Certificate of Attendance which you will require in order to present to your chosen indemnity provider to obtain the requisite insurance. We are proud to be affiliated with Hamilton Fraser who offer exclusive savings to delegates who have attended Professor Bob Khanna’s Courses. You will be provided with all the relevant information and application forms when you attend for ease of reference.
How do I know which course/module I should be booking?
Our team will advise you on the most suitable courses for your experience/skill level, but as a guide:
If you have a foundation level qualification in BTX and/or dermal filler but lack the confidence to carry out BTX and/or dermal filler treatments, you may choose to start from our Module 1 courses.
If you already confidently offer these treatments, then you could start with our Module 2 courses to expand upon your current dermal filler and BTX skills to offer more advanced treatments. Once you have completed at least both days of our Dermal Filler Level 3 course, you can then attend our Module 3 Thread lift days.
Our Polynucleotides and Fat Dissolving course days can be attended by any medical professional regardless of whether they have previous facial aesthetics training or not and are suited to individuals who wish to expand their treatment menu to include injectable skin rejuvenation, PRP and injectable serums for anti-hair loss, as well as lipolytic fat dissolving injections. We also offer other courses you can complete to increase your confidence and expertise, such as the complications masterclass.
